How Salestrail Works

Salestrail automatically tracks and logs your sales calls, giving your team full visibility into call activity without manual work.

You can use Salestrail with or without a CRM — all call data is always available in the Salestrail dashboard.


Step 1: Make calls from your phone

You continue using your phone as usual:

  • On Android, calls can be made from your native dialer
  • On iPhone, calls must be made from within the Salestrail app

Salestrail works alongside your normal calling — it does not replace it.


Step 2: Call activity is captured

Salestrail automatically captures key details from each call, including:

  • Contact or phone number
  • Call time and duration
  • Call type (inbound/outbound/answered/unanswered)

On Android, this can include both SIM/GSM and WhatsApp calls.


Step 3: Calls are stored and synced

All calls are automatically logged in the Salestrail dashboard, where you can view activity and performance across your team.

If you have a CRM connected (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot), the same data is also synced automatically to your CRM.


Step 4: Calls can be recorded (requires Android)

If call recording is enabled:

  • Calls are recorded via the phones built-in call recorder or via the Salestrail recording app
  • Recordings are linked to the call activity

Recording depends on your device and Android version.


Step 5: View everything in the dashboard

The Salestrail dashboard gives you a complete overview of your call activity:

  • View call logs across your team
  • Track performance and activity
  • Access reports and insights

Important to know

  • Salestrail does not route calls (not VoIP, not cloud telephony)
  • You always use your own mobile number
  • Functionality differs between Android and iOS due to OS restrictions
