How do I install the Salestrail Recorder APK?

Why do I need Uptodown and how do I use it to install the Recorder?

The Salestrail Recorder APK cannot be distributed through the Google Play Store due to Google's restrictions on call recording apps. To install it safely, we use Uptodown — a Google-approved APK installer that handles the installation without triggering security blocks.

Step 1: Download the Salestrail Recorder APK

Open the Salestrail app, go to Settings > Recording Settings, and tap the download link in the last section of the screen. Alternatively, go directly to  https://salestrail.io/apk in your phone's browser.

The APK file will be saved to your phone's Files folder.

Step 2: Install Uptodown from the Play Store

Uptodown is a Google-approved APK installer. It handles the installation of the Salestrail Recorder in a way that avoids the standard Android security prompts that would otherwise block it.

Open the Play Store and search for Uptodown, or go directly to: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.uptodown.installer

Download and install it.

Step 3: Grant Uptodown the necessary permissions

When you open Uptodown for the first time, it will ask for two permissions:

  • Allow app installations from this source — this is what allows Uptodown to install the APK on your behalf
  • Permission to manage files — this allows Uptodown to locate the APK file you downloaded in Step 1

Grant both. Without them, Uptodown cannot complete the installation.

If you are not prompted automatically, go to Phone Settings > Security > Install Unknown Apps > Uptodown and enable Allow from this source.


Step 4: Install the Salestrail Recorder APK

Uptodown will automatically locate the Salestrail Recorder APK file on your phone.

Tap the file and then tap Install when prompted.

Step 5: Open the main Salestrail app

Once installation is complete, open the main Salestrail app. This links the two apps together automatically — no further action is needed in Uptodown.

You can uninstall Uptodown at this point if you no longer need it.
